| Happy Tails | Meeko (Crew)
We brought Meeko home knowing that he would be a lot of work. At the adoption event, didn't do much other than sit on his foster mom's lap. He wouldn't even walk around, we had to carry him around. He was scared of everything. He also had mites that we were given his medicine for in order to continue treatment. Our first vet visit with him, we learned that he had Giardia, a parasite, and started treatment for that.
Now, five weeks later, he has tested negative for both his
mites and Giardia! In a few weeks, he will be tested again
for mites and if the results are negative again, he will then
officially be recovered!
Meeko is a joy to have around. He hates when we have to
leave him, but hasn't had a single accident or incident while home
alone! He loves belly rubs, trips to the dog park, cuddling
on the couch with his "pack," and playing with and chewing all
sorts of toys (tennis balls, soccer balls, tug toys, stuffed
animals that are no longer stuffed). He even throws his ball
for himself sometimes - one time he threw it so hard, it hit the
ceiling!
He is a really quick study - often time learning a new trick
after only a few minutes of training. He is still in the
puppy nipping phase and still barks at anything and everything that
scares him (which is everything), but we are confident our
continued training and loving will help him become more accustomed
to life with humans, and will boost his confidence as he grows.
Thanks for saving him from a shelter in NC and bringing him to
us! He will forever be a part of our family!
