We went to our first WAGS adoption event on Sunday, May 6, 2018. We were pre-approved to adopt, and that was the smartest thing we could have done. We walked the room, my husband spotted Nico, and the rest is history - We walked out that day with our boy and a car full of doggy items! As new parents, we took our boy to the Vet the first week for a check up and to be chipped. At that visit he tested positive for heart worms and so began his treatment journey—multiple medications, restricted exercise, visits to the Vet—he was a trooper! Today he is heart worm negative and we couldn’t be happier! Plus, he was taken off the anxiety medicine his previous owners had him on. He continues to bring so much joy to us —he loves meeting new people, running around his fenced in yard, playing with our neighbor’s dog, car rides, belly rubs, and snuggling! He is so special and we could not imagine our life with out him. Thank you WAGS for all the hard work you do finding forever homes! We will be back for a sibling for our sweet boy!
